I have this peculiarity of finding amazing local artists after I leave the place I stayed in for a few months. The same happened with Dublin-based Dermot Kennedy, even though I am pretty sure I saw him playing somewhere in the city.
"After Rain" is exceptionally pleasant to the ear. It has all good things folk - raw vocals, beautiful lyrics, guitar, strings, and the list goes on. All the tracks I heard on Dermot's Soundcloud page are quite incredible. He has already supported the likes of Glen Hansard and James Vincent McMorrow, and I hope he gets even more exposure. It will be well-deserved.
Looks like there is some new music coming our way, so keep your eyes peeled.
