After only two takes, Berlin-based Chiara Noriko has dropped an effortless new track to remind us why spontaneity can be a powerful tool for any songwriter.
Her latest release, “Feelin The Vibe,” came to the 19-year-old vocalist on a walk home during a moment of introspection and familiar beats. In her description, Noriko notes that she,
"could've done better but i didn't feel like redoing this. wanted to keep the moment. it's very personal."
And we’re definitely thankful she did just that.
The song is comprised of a dusty hip-hop loop paired with a sweet and lyrical melody—and there’s nothing more to it. I say this in a complimentary way of course, as the simplicity of the production style is one of the most appealing aspects of this soulful tune.
With musical inspiration drawn from the likes of D’Angelo and Jay Dee, we can look past Noriko’s small collection of released tracks and have faith that there’s more good music to come. But for now, her latest release will keep us groovin’ until spontaneity finds her again.
