Told you Spring was coming with loads of great releases along. Well, Chateau Marmont's sophomore album Sound of Shambala was part of my selection.

To avoid any ambiguities: no LA notorious hotel has not issued some kind of compilation. Chateau Marmont actually hails from France and the two-piece electro band has released Sound of Shambala today via their own label Chambre 404. Funny enough, the act has always been associated to the City of Angels to me - not because of the hotel, but because I came to discover them as I was living in LA. Time has pasted, and some members are gone - they were four initially. But "Nothing to Hold Back" has thoses west-coast vibes to my ears. It is one of my favorite track from the album: It's smooth, dancy and host the voice of LA-singer Steffaloo - whom you might know from XXYYXX or Blackbird Blackbird songs. Quite a perfect combo to start off your week.

"Here on the West Coast it's a brand new day. The sun is shining in a wholer way."
